D&D Basic Monsters: Satyr

The Satyr (or Faun) are creatures from Greek mytholoh, closey bound to the forest god Pan, who's given his name to the (in)famous pipes. As a D&D monster the Satyr dates back to the earliest days, appearing in the first edition Monster Manual.

The pan-pipes favoured by the Satyr, usually have the ability to cause charm, sleep or fear effects, and while the version presented in the basic rules does not have any piping abilities, optional rules exist in the Monster Manual, and creative DMs can probably figure out ways using the basic rules, giving them access to such spells as Charm Person, Hold Person, Sleep or similar.
